Operating under The James H.W. Thompson Foundation, the Art Center serves as a haven for artists and cultural communities to express ideas, mingle, and exchange dialogues. In conjunction with exhibitions, this is where events, lectures and seminars are organized regularly.

The Art Center's mission is to nurture artistic activities and bring visitors together through creative experiences that shine light on contemporary and traditional arts. Previous exhibitions includes Pinaree Sanpitak, Arahmaiani, Christian Lacroix, Interweaving cultures, Metissages, a crossbreeding of contemporary art and textiles, and those which showcased the traditional aspects of Southeast Asian textiles such as ikats, costume fabrics and maps painted on cloth.
